Below are the importance of Understanding the Legal Bases of Philippine Education System:
1. Understanding the legal bases of education gives knowledge in every people, especially the school community, about the foundation of the whole educational system. It gives them the common knowledge on how a school works and what are the legal bases in every action of the school community. Through this, the school community will work harmoniously to achieve the goal of the Philippine Education.
2. Understanding the legal bases of education serves as a direction for the department, school administrators, teachers, students and stakeholders to meet the common good of people in education.
3. Understanding the legal bases is important so teachers will know what are their rights, privileges, duties and responsibilities in the industry of education.
4. Understanding the legal bases helps teachers and students to know their limitations in order to avoid instances that may violate the rights of the two parties. As we know, innocence does not excuse anyone to the law. To avoid such incidence, understanding the the different bases of Philippine Education System is important.
5. Understanding the legal bases of education helps the school in implementing the correct rules and regulations. It protects the institution, the teachers and students through the policies anchored by the law.
6. Obeying the law gives every institution a clear path on what they should take. It helps them to have the right direction on what a school should take. It also serves as a manual on what are the possible mistakes that a school is doing and what are the things that they must change to improve the school community.
If an institution, teacher or a student violated any laws, consequence for their wrongdoings may apply. An example of possible teachers' liability on students injury in school is attached below.

ReplyDeleteI agree with your proposition. Teachers like us must know and understand by heart the different legal bases because most of the time, we are interacting directly with our students and we are risking our license everyday.
